Bangladesh Railways has decided to run ‍‍`special train‍‍` for five days in Dhaka-Cox‍‍`s Bazar railway in the current and next month. A decision has been taken as number of passengers are increasing on this route.

This train is going to start from Tuesday (February 20) night. Tourists from different parts of the country are visiting Cox‍‍`s Bazar, the world‍‍`s largest beach, due to continuous holidays. Due to the increase in tourists, the pressure of passengers on the train has naturally increased. And to handle the pressure of these additional tourists, the railway authorities have thought of running an additional five-day ‍‍`special train‍‍` on this route.

Station Master Mohammad Golam Rabbani said, "On February 20, 29 and March 7, the special train will depart Dhaka at 11 pm and reach Cox‍‍`s Bazar at 8 am the next day. Similarly, the train will depart Cox‍‍`s Bazar on February 28 and March 6 and reach Dhaka at 4 am the next day."

The special train has 14 coaches. In which there are 450 Shovon Chairs and 220 AC chairs. The ticket price of the special train will be the same as the other two trains plying on this route, he said.

Dhaka-Cox‍‍`s Bazar AC (Snigdha) fare is Tk 1,325 and non-AC (Shovon Chair) fare is Tk 695 on Cox‍‍`s Bazar Express and Parjatak Express trains. Fare of the same train from Chittagong to Cox‍‍`s Bazar for is (AC) Tk 470 and (Non-AC) Tk 250.

After the opening of Cox‍‍`s Bazar railway station, the non-stop "Cox‍‍`s Bazar Express" started carrying commercial passengers on this route from December 1. Following that, on January 10, the "Parjatak Express," the second non-stop intercity train, became operational.
